What We’re Tracking
- Warm, humid for Father’s Day
- Best storm chance on Tuesday
- Staying humid all week
Much of northeastern Kansas will remain dry today ahead of a few scattered thunderstorms tonight. Temperatures tonight drop down into the middle to upper 60s with a partly cloudy sky and a light southeast wind.
Father’s Day will start off partly cloudy. Highs will climb into the upper 80s with lower 90s in some areas. Most areas will clear out for Sunday afternoon with mostly sunny skies. Humidity levels will stay high enough each day to give us a bit of a heat index, running generally a few degrees higher than the air temperature each day.
We’ll start out next week in the 90s with sunny skies. Rain returns for Tuesday evening, Tuesday night into early Wednesday with scattered storms anticipated. After that rain chance, we set up for a more typical summer pattern with increasing levels of heat and humidity. Highs by the end of next week should reach the middle 90s.
