New Kansas firework law.
Kansas lawmakers made some changes to existing laws earlier this year regarding when fireworks can be sold. As a result, permanent firework vendors can sell their wares year-round while seasonal retailers can sell their products for an extended period of time.
Seasonal vendors can start selling fireworks starting on June 20 through to July 7, according to Senate Bill 199. Previously, the selling period for seasonal vendors only lasted from June 27 to July 5.
Local ordinances still apply regarding when fireworks can be set off in Kansas. For example, the City of Topeka has an ordinance regulating when fireworks can be set off within city limits.
