EMPORIA (KSNT) – Emporia police have identified two people killed in a recent house explosion.
The Emporia Police Department (EPD) announced in a press release on June 20 that two locals were killed in a recent home explosion. The EPD said Darrell Bontrager, 78 and Terry Bontrager, 73, died on Wednesday, June 18 at their residence located in the 1800 block of East Sixth Avenue.
The EPD said the family of the victims has asked for privacy at this time following the deaths. Police do not suspect foul play to be a cause of this incident.
Kansas ranchers hit hard by cattle theft operations
The Kansas State Fire Marshal and EPD are investigating this incident. Officials have yet to report what the cause of the explosion was.
