What We’re Tracking
- Heat holds strong
- Staying humid all week
- Wind Advisory
Another warm and breezy night is ahead, with lows dipping into the mid-70s under a clear sky. While tonight’s Wind Advisory for east-central Kansas ends at 8 PM, another advisory is set to return Sunday as gusty winds stick around.
A Heat Advisory has also been extended through Sunday evening. Afternoon heat indices are expected to climb into the low 100s, possibly as high as 107°, making this the hottest stretch of the season so far. Be sure to stay hydrated and limit outdoor time during the hottest part of the day.
Humidity will be high, too, with dew points rising into the low 70s, creating steamy and uncomfortable conditions. Overnight lows won’t offer much relief, holding in the mid-70s.
Southerly winds will continue into Sunday, gusting between 30 and 40 mph. That steady breeze will keep pumping in warm, moist air, locking in the heat and humidity into early next week.
Rain chances stay low for now. Our next chance for showers and storms arrives early to midweek, but don’t expect much cooling behind it.
