What We’re Tracking
- Hot and Humid
- Slight Cool Down
- Storm Chances This Week
All of northeastern Kansas is still in a Heat Advisory through this evening. Highs today around the mid 90s with afternoon heat indices expected to climb into the upper 90s to low 100s. Be sure to stay hydrated, stay cool, and limit outdoor time during the hottest part of the day.
Another breezy day in store again today with winds out of the southeast gusting into the low to mid 30s mph. A Wind Advisory for east-central Kansas ends at 8 PM ahead of our next chance for rain. Humidity will be high, too, with dew points remaining in the low 70s, creating steamy and uncomfortable conditions.
Rain chances return early this week as Monday evening into early Tuesday morning look to be the best chance for precipitation. Some counties from Central Kansas into the northern counties of northeastern Kansas are in a slight risk for severe weather. While there is a threat for damaging winds and small hail, the greatest threat looks to be heavy downpours which could lead to flooding.
