What We’re Tracking
- Strong Storms Tonight
- Winds Taper Off
- Slight Cool Down
We started the day mostly clear, but clouds have gradually filtered in this afternoon. A few storms are expected to develop across east-central Kansas, with the strongest activity winding down by around midnight.
Portions of central Kansas and the northern counties of northeast Kansas are under a slight risk for severe weather. The primary threats include damaging winds and small hail. However, heavy rainfall appears to be the most widespread concern, with localized flooding possible. Storms will likely weaken as they move farther east.
A few showers or storms may linger into Tuesday morning, tapering off by lunchtime. The second half of the day should be dry. Winds will be from the south near 15 mph for the afternoon. Despite the rain, temperatures will remain hot, with highs in the low 90s continuing much of the week.
Wednesday looks mostly dry, but another chance for rain returns by late Thursday.
