TOPEKA (KSNT) – The sky above Capital City is set to light up this weekend when a local church hosts its annual fireworks extravaganza.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 28 at Fellowship Hi-Crest. It will feature eight food trucks. There will also be inflatables, henna, balloon art, face painting, a live DJ, and the event’s first-ever car show.
This event is not only an opportunity for the community to have a good time but also raise money for Care Portal.
Parking in downtown Topeka is about to get more expensive
“Care Portal is an organization here in Topeka,” Krissy Kearney, Fellowship Hi-Crest’s Connections coordinator, said. “It’s basically an online platform, and agencies can submit need requests. And the needs are the kind of needs that go on here help families stay together. “
The event begins at 7 p.m. this Saturday with a fireworks show starting at 10 p.m. The admission is free.
