TOPEKA (KSNT) – Locals can head down to one or more of several upcoming firework shows that are happening in the days leading up to the Fourth of July across northeast Kansas this year.
Multiple large fireworks shows are scheduled this summer leading up to and on Independence Day in 2025. 27 News checked around to find out when these big events are happening and where. Check out the full list below to find one near you.
Boomtown USA
- Where: City of Wamego
- When: Friday, July 4.
- Timeline:
- 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Walter P. Chrysler Car Show at City Park.
- 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Antique Tractor Show at the Ball Diamonds.
- 1 p.m. – “Boomtown 2 Behind the Fence” documentary on the 2018 fireworks show at The Columbian Theater.
- 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Lincoln Avenue Food Court at the Bittmann Mercantile Parking Lot.
- 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Carnival open for all ages at City Park.
- 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Parking shuttle service opens at the Wamego High School Football Field and Wamego Middle School parking lots.
- 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Wamego Independence Day Parade on Lincoln Avenue.
- 7:30 p.m. – Free Pre-Fireworks Concert at the Wamego Recreation Complex.
- 10 p.m. to 10:35 p.m. – Wamego Fireworks Show at the Recreation Complex.
- 10:30 p.m. – Post-Fireworks Concert by the First Infantry Division Rock Band.

Spirit of Kansas
- Where: 3315 Southeast Tinman Circle at Lake Shawnee in Topeka.
- When: Friday, July 4.
- Timeline:
- 8 a.m. – Car show registration opens.
- 9 a.m. – Car show at shelters four and five near Reynolds Lodge in Tinman Circle.
- 10 a.m. – Golf tournaments at Lake Shawnee and Cypress Ridge golf courses.
- 11 a.m. – Blues Festival presented by the Topeka Blues Society.
- 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Food and craft vendors next to Reynolds Lodge in Tinman Circle.
- 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. – Waterski show at the Shawnee County Boat & Ski Club.
