What We’re Tracking
- Hot weekend
- Storms Sunday night
- Early Week Cool Down
Much of the area will be mostly sunny and muggy today warming into the low 90s today with some areas barely breaking 90. Later on in the evening, we can’t rule out the potential for an isolated shower or thunderstorm to develop in the area. It is a low chance. Temperatures for many in the low 70s tonight. For those who like the 90s, look away, as were expected to cool into the upper 80s to begin next week.
Muggy air again tomorrow with the better chance for storms this weekend Sunday evening as a cold front pushes south through Kansas where most, if not all of us should see some scattered storms. Some storms could be slow moving bringing the potential for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding. It is worth noting some models are in disagreement with placement and timing of these storms. There is high confidence that the timing will be in the evening, and any storms can produce heavy rainfall.
The change in wind direction in the wake of the cold front from south to east will usher in cooler, below average temperatures and slightly less humidity for the beginning of the week. Many of us starting out in the upper 80s and mostly sunny to begin the week.
