What We’re Tracking
- Isolated storms later tonight
- Better rain chances on Saturday
- Summer heat continues
Tonight temperatures will fall into the mid-70s overnight, with gusty south winds reaching up to 25 mph. If you’re setting off fireworks this evening, keep the breezy conditions in mind. Most of Northeast Kansas will stay dry tonight, with the best chance for showers and storms remaining across central Kansas. The main round of rain is expected to hold off until after midnight and may weaken as it moves into Northeast Kansas.
A better chance for scattered showers and storms arrives Saturday. Despite the rain, temperatures will still climb into the upper 80s to low 90s. The most widespread rain looks to move through Saturday night, which appears to be our best window for rainfall this weekend. This round of storms could bring gusty winds and heavy downpours as a boundary moves through.
A few isolated storms are possible on Sunday, but the day won’t be a washout. Expect another warm and muggy day. Looking ahead, another chance for storms arrives early in the upcoming week, with summer-like temperatures sticking around.
