SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) – Some Shawnee County roads will have temporary lane closures and minor delays while crews conduct road work.
Shawnee County will be doing chip sealing work on five county roads this week, according to a county press release. Drivers should expect minor delays, temporary closures and flaggers directing traffic in the work zones. Drivers are being encouraged to use alternate routes to get around the work zones.

Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily with adjustments possible due to weather conditions. Work is expected to be completed by the end of the week on Saturday, July 12.
This week’s scheduled chip-sealing locations include:
- Southeast Dupont Road – from U.S. Hwy 40 to Southeast Second Street.
- Southeast Second Street – from Southeast Dupont Road to Northeast Goodell Road.
- Northeast Goodell Road – to Northeast Seward Avenue.
- Northeast Seward Avenue – from Northeast Goodell Road to Southeast Rice Road.
- Southeast Croco Road – from Northeast Seward Avenue to U.S. Hwy 40.
