What We’re Tracking
- Few storms late tonight
- Friday evening cold front
- Nice weekend
Expect plenty of sunshine and hot conditions today. Highs will climb into the mid-90s, with heat index values reaching the triple digits. Humidity will stay high, with dew points in the lower 70s, and southerly winds will gust up to 25 mph.
We’re keeping an eye on the chance for an isolated storm later this evening. Most of the rain will hold off until after midnight, and even then, the chance remains low. As storms track east from central Kansas, they are expected to weaken. Overnight temperatures will fall into the middle 70s.
Another chance for storms arrives late Friday, ahead of an approaching cold front. A few scattered storms could become strong to severe, with gusty winds and small hail being the main threats during the evening hours.
Cooler and less humid air moves in by Saturday, offering some relief before the humidity starts to build again from the south later in the weekend.
