TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka man’s legacy lives on 160 years after he was born.
Teh Capper Foundation recognized the birthday of its founder, Arthur Capper, on July 14 in Topeka. The non-profit helps people with disabilities across the State of Kansas.
Arthur Capper once served as governor of Kansas and spent time as a U.S. senator, according to the Capper Foundation’s website.
“It’s significant and it’s so impactful,” said Zach Ahrens, Capper Foundation president and CEO, said. “The work that our volunteers and businesses, and individuals that support our mission. This is our day to celebrate.”

Arthur Capper started the foundation and organization back in 1920. He died in 1951.
