TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka police are launching a new homicide investigation after an older local man was found dead Tuesday evening.
The Topeka Police Department (TPD) delivered remarks during a live meeting at 11:15 a.m. on July 16 at the Law Enforcement Center for a recent suspicious death investigation. Law enforcement updated the community after the TPD found a dead man inside of a vehicle near the Central Park Community Center.
Police said during the meeting the victim was identified as Terry Keller, 72, of Topeka. His death is under investigation as a homicide and law enforcement is asking for people to help find who is responsible for the killing.
Officers patrolling in the 1500 block of Southwest Clay Street came across a vehicle near the community center around 6:45 p.m. on July 15. Police found one man inside, later identified as Keller, dead.
