What We’re Tracking
- Excessive Heat Warning
- Long stretch of dangerous heat
- No major rain relief
Temperatures tonight drop down into the middle 70s. A breezy south wind gusting as high as 20 mph will make for a warmer night ahead.
We are watching strong thunderstorms developing in Nebraska. As they push closer to northeast Kansas, they’ll weaken and fall apart. A few showers are still possible early Sunday morning. Despite morning showers, we still heat up Sunday afternoon.
Most of the viewing area is under an Excessive Heat Warning through Thursday next week. Temperatures are expected to keep warming all throughout this weekend into the start of next week. The combination of heat and humidity this weekend makes heat indices 105+ degrees possible. Remember to limit time outdoors, find shade if possible, and hydrate.
