- Excessive Heat Warning
- Long stretch of dangerous heat
- No major rain relief
Most of the viewing area is under an Excessive Heat Warning through Thursday next week. Temperatures are expected to keep warming all throughout this weekend into the start of next week. We could be seeing triple digits as early as today! The combination of heat and humidity this weekend makes heat indices 105+ degrees possible. There is a chance of isolated rain showers Sunday morning, but not expecting widespread rain and it will clear and still turn very hot.
Most shower activity will stay closer to the Nebraska border allowing our far northern to counties to see some relief from the heat. The further south into Kansas you go, expect temperatures to be hotter.
The start of the new week won’t be any different than this weekend. Highs throughout the entirety of the week are expected to be 100+ degrees. Heat indices everyday can be as high as 105-110. Remember to limit time outdoors, find shade if possible, and hydrate.
