KANSAS CITY, MO (KSNT) – In the first round of the TBT Tournament Kansas City Regional, Kansas State alumni squad No. 3 Purple Reign defeated Houston based team No. 6 The Shine 85-84.
In the fourth quarter of TBT play a target score is set based off the leader’s score plus eight points; the first team to reach that target score wins.
With The Shine needing one point to hit the target score, Reign’s Austin Trice secured a defensive rebound to give them the ball. Shaun Williams hits the three-point jump shot with the assist from Jacob Pullen to advance Purple Reign to round two.
Their next game will be against the No. 2 JHX Hoops on Monday night at 8 p.m. in Municipal auditorium.
