KANSAS CITY (KSNT)- Kansas City was the place to be Monday night.
In the first ever Sunflower Showdown in The Basketball Tournament, KU’s alumni team ‘JHX Hoops’ outlasts K-States ‘Purple Reign’ 59-57.
With an Elam ending target score of 58, Purple Reign had the chance to win it at the free throw line after Shaun Williams was fouled.
Despite missing both free throws, Purple Reign would retain possession after the rebound was deflected off JHX Hoops.
The following possession, LaGerald Vick would steal the ball and race the other way for the score and the win.
