What We’re Tracking
- Flood watch Thursday-Friday
- Brief cool down
- Hot and dry weekend
Temperatures tonight will once again drop into the mid-70s, with gusty south winds up to 25 mph. A brief break from the extreme heat arrives Thursday and Friday as a cold front moves in, bringing more clouds, rain chances, and slightly cooler temps.
A Flood Watch is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Flood-prone areas, including rivers and streams, could be impacted by heavy rainfall. While most spots can expect 1–3 inches of rain, isolated totals over 4 inches are possible with slow-moving storms.
Highs may only reach the upper 80s to low 90s Thursday and Friday, depending on cloud cover and rainfall amounts.
Don’t get too used to it though! After those scattered storms, temperatures will quickly rebound. An upper-level ridge builds back in over the weekend, sending highs soaring into the upper 90s to low 100s once again.
