What We’re Tracking
- Hot & humid Today
- Weak front Thursday
- Hot and dry weekend
Temperatures this morning have fallen into the middle 70s, making for a warm and breezy morning with a south wind gusting up to 20 mph.
Hot and humid conditions will stick around today, with highs climbing into the upper 90s and heat index values ranging from 100 to 105. Dew points will remain high, in the low 70s, thanks to lingering moisture from recent rainfall.
Our next chance of any sort of “cool down” comes Thursday and Friday as a weak frontal boundary brings cloud cover and rain chances back to the area. A brief break from the extreme heat. Highs both days may dip into the upper 80s to low 90s, depending on how much rainfall and cloud cover we see during the day.
After those scattered storms, temperatures will quickly rebound. An upper-level ridge builds back in over the weekend, sending highs soaring into the upper 90s to low 100s once again.
