TOPEKA (KSNT) – Family of a two-year-old boy who was at the center of a recent AMBER Alert and double-homicide case in Topeka have set up a fundraiser to help meet his needs in the years ahead.
Jennifer Amyx set up a GoFundMe on Friday, July 25 to help local two-year-old Zabe Mendez. Amyx, who is a relative of Mendez, said the fundraiser is meant to help cover costs associated with daycare, education and other needs for the child.
“Our family is grieving the loss of two wonderful people who brought love and kindness into the world everyday. While the grief and public exposure are overwhelming, we want to thank everyone for keeping us in your hearts and your prayers, and we thank the community in advance for any donations made during our family’s darkest night.”
