What We’re Tracking
- Heat Advisory
- Mid-week rain chances
- Late-week cool down
Heat Advisory continues through Tuesday for all counties except those bordering Nebraska; those counties are under the advisory through Monday. When you factor in the humidity and plenty of sunshine, it will feel even hotter. Heat indices may reach up to 110° in a few areas. Dew points will remain in the upper 70s, keeping things feeling tropical and very muggy.
Plenty of sunshine is expected for your Tuesday. South winds will keep both temperatures and dew points on the higher side, so be sure to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors if you can.
The heat won’t stick around for long. An unusually cool pattern will move in to close out the work week and welcome the new month. By Thursday, a cold front will sweep through the area, shifting winds to the north and dropping temperatures.
As we wrap up July, showers and storms return Wednesday and linger into the weekend. Highs to start August will fall into the upper 70s to lower 80s, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-60s.
