TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Community Resources Council (CRC) announced the launch of its “Rockin’ for the Vets” online silent auction, a fundraising initiative to support the CRC SAFE Homes program. The auction began on July 21, and is a key part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to raise $35,000 to help veterans in the community secure safe, quality housing.
The CRC SAFE Homes program addresses many challenges faced by veterans like the difficulty of using a qualified VA loan to purchase a home. This program creates a level playing field by purchasing homes at a reasonable price, performing all necessary renovations, and selling them directly to veterans. Homes are sold leaving a minimum 20% equity from the date of purchase, giving veterans and their families a strong start and a safe place to call home.

The silent auction will feature a variety of items like four tickets to see Kansas, 38 Special and Jefferson Starship on September 25 at Azura Amphitheater, a lawn manicure and a class on couponing. Community members are encouraged to visit the auction page to bid to items and learn more about the CRC SAFE Homes program.
